Streamlined Company Registration Service declared successful

A recent HMRC press release states that the government’s combined business and tax registration service is working well.

HMRC and Companies House worked together to create The Streamlined Company Registration Service, and to date, more than 200,000 entrepreneurs have used the revised process to register their new companies.

The service was set up to simplify matters for new business owners. The idea is to free them up so that they can focus on setting up, marketing and growing their new companies. This innovation adds to the UK’s reputation for being one of the easiest places in the world to set up and run a business.

Those company owners who take advantage of this system are automatically registered for HMRC’s digital tax services.

Accountants in Heswall, and other parts of the UK, are likely to welcome this change. It means that when a relatively new business owner comes to them to use their services, they are far more likely to already be operating correctly. This system ensures that registering with HMRC does not get pushed down the “to do” list.

Registering for tax straightaway focuses the mind of business owners and encourages them to take care of their accountancy tasks from the very start. Plus, it ensures that everyone stays on the right side of the law.

The new service is just one of the changes the UK government is making to minimise the number of administrative tasks firms have to do in view of Making Tax Digital coming into effect in a matter of months.
